My name is Doug Simpson. I am a mixed media artist operating Artplace, Inc.

My original goal many years ago was to become a classic landscape painter of peaceful streams, towering trees, and hidden paths. I found that to be less than challenging and too peaceful. Currently I work with several mediums that allow me to combine all types of materials into a single artistic creation.

My techniques are developed from observations of sculptors, painters, architects, craft artisans, doll artists, glass artists, scrap bookers and other genres. My artwork incorporates these techniques into a somewhat unique style.

I have had many questions as to how I do what I do and what it is made of. This led me to gather materials from maany sources and offer those in our store and online at a single source. I also teach classes in all the techniques I use in our Creative Learning Center at Artplace.
